6 Days Hiking to Mount Toubkal in Marrakech

1st day:

Arrival in Marrakech, transfer and overnight in a hotel or a riad in the medina. Depending on the time of arrival: exploring the famous Jemaa El Fna, visit the Majorelle Gardens, Menara tower, the Saadian Tombs, the Medina or walk in the Mellah (Jewish quarter).

2nd day: Marrakech – Imlil:

Departure to the Imlil s village (1740 m): the main base of Toubkal trekking (5 hours walking to the South). Breakfast in a chalet. Then, the discovery of Green Valley, the village of Imlil (instead of filming Martin Scorsese’s Kundun, about the life of the Dalai Lama: the snowy High Atlas replaced the Himalayas). Night in a cottage steps in Imlil.

3rd day: Imlil – Armed – Sidi Chamharouch – RefugeToubkal (the Neltner):

Pilgrimage starting from Imlil to its highest peak, the famous village of Sidi Chamharouch (2300 m). On the journey, crossing and Armed visit a small village with traditional stone architecture. After lunch, head for the Neltner Refuge (3200 m): the meeting point for all those who love hiking in the High Atlas. Dinner and overnight stay at the shelter.

4th day: Refuge Toubkal – Jebel Toubkal – Imlil:

Depart for the last part of the ascent: the summit of Toubkal (4167m). After 3 hours of climb, reaching the summit of Toubkal contemplation impressive and unforgettable views of the rest of the High Atlas, and surrounding Siroua Saghro presahariana. Lunch at the shelter, then return to Imlil night in cottage steps. Average difficulty about 8 hours.

5th day: Imlil – Marrakech:

Departure to Marrakech. Lunch on the way. Depending on the time of arrival: free time to visit the Medina of Marrakech on your own. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad or hotel.

6th day:

Transfer to the airport.
